Ingredients

For the brownies:
  • 7 oz good-quality dark chocolate 60–70%
  • ¾ cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup white sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp salt
For decoration:
  • Candy eyes gummy worms, or other fun Halloween candy

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Break the chocolate into pieces and melt it together with the butter (using a heatproof bowl over simmering water or the microwave). Stir until smooth, then let it cool slightly.
  3. Mix in both sugars. Add the eggs one at a time, whisking them in by hand (a simple whisk is enough, no mixer needed). Stir in the vanilla.
  4. Sift the flour and salt on top, then gently fold everything together with a spatula until just combined—don’t overmix.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 28–32 minutes, until the edges are set but the center is still soft.
  6. Let the brownies cool completely, then decorate with candy eyes, gummy worms, or any Halloween-themed toppings you like.
